Banjo Brothers Messenger Bag Review

For most of this year we have been using and abusing the Banjo Brothers large messenger bag. We’ve used this as our work bag throughout the day, commuter bag, grocery store bag, beer run bag and even for hauling huge items to set up for bicycle events with Music City Cycling. Sure we could use a little extra space in it every once in a while, but it’s a great size for commuting.
This bag retails for only $79.99, which is an amazing deal for the quality that comes with it. Some messenger bags are well over double that price with not many differences.
We’ve toted this thing around in the pouring down rain with no problem of water seeping in. Weatherproof is a must in our book, and it definitely gets the job done.
The cell phone holster is a bit outdated, as it seems to be for the size of an old flip phone. That had to be swapped out with a TimBuk2 cell phone holster that would accommodate the huge size of our smart phone.
The only other small problems we have with the bag would be the strap and the “anti-sway” under arm strap. The angle of the main strap is just a little off for us. That could be boiled down to personal preference/body type, but it’s not quite right for us. Also the under arm strap… the buckle point is way too far down the main strap which doesn’t help much with the “anti-sway”. Unless the bag is tightened down as much as possible, a lot of sway definitely happens.
That being said, you get a whole lot of bang for your buck. Especially if you’re new to the messenger bag world, this is a great bag to start with if you don’t want to spend $200 for one.
This bag is “messenger approved”.
You can get one for yourself over at Nashville Bicycle Lounge along with other Banjo Brothers bags. Support your local bicycle shop, they support you.
We’ll be testing out the new Showers Pass Rogue Hoodie this winter. Keep an eye out for the review. We’re already very impressed with it. Also available at Nashville Bicycle Lounge.

Proudly distributing Native

We are now the distributer of Nashville’s newest magazine Native! Here’s the low down..
“Native is a monthly magazine that aims to unite the creative community of Nashville. Our in-depth features tell the stories of the artists, entrepreneurs, and creative Nashvillians who are making the city an internationally-significant locale. We are a family-owned publication based out of Marathon Village in an artist collective called Moonbase.”
This months magazine went to about 100 locations all around Nashville and they were all delivered by bicycle. Go to one of your local stores, pickup one up and look for our ad! (There’s also a great article on one of our favorite bicycle shops Halcyon.) In our opinion, it’s the best local magazine available. Quality from front to back.

Walk/Bike Nashville hosted this years Bike to Work Day, an annual event to motivate/educate people on biking to work. It was a nice way to start the morning with fellow riders, donuts, coffee and oj. It was a pretty nice turn out this year and perfect weather, but hopefully it will continue to grow as Nashville becomes more and more cycling friendly.
Go ride yer bike!
