Jerseys Are Now Available
For our first run of jerseys we’ve teamed up with Voler to get the job done. They’ve done a fantastic job with getting everything exactly right for us and for that we are very thankful. We love working with a company that has great customer service.
You can pick up your very own Rush jersey from them here. Just make sure you represent us well when wearing your new jersey!
I’d also like to thank our amazing sponsors again. Loews Vanderbilt Hotel is one of the nicest hotels to stay at in Nashville. After their recent renovations, they’ve upgraded just about everything including their new restaurant and bar Masons. Go check it out.
Bongo Java Roasting is putting out some of the most delicious coffee in Nashville while keeping it as green and organic as possible. They’ve also got some of the best coffee shops in town. Their coffee is what keeps us going every day.
Last but not least, Yazoo Brewing Company. They are THE local brewery to us. They pulled us in with their delicious beer and kept us coming back with their support for the local community as well as the local cycling community. You can grab one of their mainstays at most any place that carries beer or go grab a specialty at the taproom. We’ll also be bringing plenty of Yazoo for you to enjoy at many of the local cyclocross races this year.
That’s it. Go ride your bike and support your local businesses.+ Read more…
Have you seen us rolling around in our new jerseys yet? We teamed up with Voler to create some awesome jerseys for our couriers to wear on the daily, as well as at the races. We think they turned out great and hope you like them too. Soon these will be available to the public for purchase on the Voler site. We’ll update you when that happens.
But for now check out the photos below. Huge thanks to Ryan Green for taking such great photos. Also, thanks to our amazing sponsors/clients Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, Yazoo Brewing Company, and Bongo Java Roasting Company.
Explore Your City
Bicycle messengers lead interesting lives. We become connected with the city in a very different way than most people. We know the best places to get coffee or lunch, know the best spots to relax in the sun in between deliveries, create passing relationships with most everyone selling The Contributor, and the first ones to see a new business moving in.
Because we want everyone to experience our city with a view atop a bicycle, we’ve started a new monthly contest called Explore Your City. We post a picture on our Facebook page and the first person to ride there, take a picture of their bike at the same location and post it on our page wins something awesome. This is our way of getting you out on your bike and exploring the city you live in!
Like our Facebook pag to join in on Explore Your City and see all the things we encounter throughout the day!+ Read more…

Haulin’ Coffee Beans
We’ve teamed up with the best bean roasters in Nashville! You may have already seen us around town hauling tons of coffee beans in our trailer for the Bongo Java Roasting Company. It’s just another way for them to implement some green alternatives and save some gas on deliveries. They already use 100% organic coffee bought directly from small-farmer cooperatives under the terms of Fair Trade.+ Read more…
Bongo Java has been keeping Nashville caffeinated for many years and we’re pumped to be a part of that.
If you haven’t already, go check out one of their many local coffee shops and wholesalers. And remember that the coffee you’re drinking may have been delivered by bicycle!
Banjo Brothers Messenger Bag Review
For most of this year we have been using and abusing the Banjo Brothers large messenger bag. We’ve used this as our work bag throughout the day, commuter bag, grocery store bag, beer run bag and even for hauling huge items to set up for bicycle events with Music City Cycling. Sure we could use a little extra space in it every once in a while, but it’s a great size for commuting.
This bag retails for only $79.99, which is an amazing deal for the quality that comes with it. Some messenger bags are well over double that price with not many differences.
We’ve toted this thing around in the pouring down rain with no problem of water seeping in. Weatherproof is a must in our book, and it definitely gets the job done.
The cell phone holster is a bit outdated, as it seems to be for the size of an old flip phone. That had to be swapped out with a TimBuk2 cell phone holster that would accommodate the huge size of our smart phone.
The only other small problems we have with the bag would be the strap and the “anti-sway” under arm strap. The angle of the main strap is just a little off for us. That could be boiled down to personal preference/body type, but it’s not quite right for us. Also the under arm strap… the buckle point is way too far down the main strap which doesn’t help much with the “anti-sway”. Unless the bag is tightened down as much as possible, a lot of sway definitely happens.
That being said, you get a whole lot of bang for your buck. Especially if you’re new to the messenger bag world, this is a great bag to start with if you don’t want to spend $200 for one.
This bag is “messenger approved”.
You can get one for yourself over at Nashville Bicycle Lounge along with other Banjo Brothers bags. Support your local bicycle shop, they support you.
We’ll be testing out the new Showers Pass Rogue Hoodie this winter. Keep an eye out for the review. We’re already very impressed with it. Also available at Nashville Bicycle Lounge.
Proudly distributing Native
We are now the distributer of Nashville’s newest magazine Native! Here’s the low down..
“Native is a monthly magazine that aims to unite the creative community of Nashville. Our in-depth features tell the stories of the artists, entrepreneurs, and creative Nashvillians who are making the city an internationally-significant locale. We are a family-owned publication based out of Marathon Village in an artist collective called Moonbase.”
This months magazine went to about 100 locations all around Nashville and they were all delivered by bicycle. Go to one of your local stores, pickup one up and look for our ad! (There’s also a great article on one of our favorite bicycle shops Halcyon.) In our opinion, it’s the best local magazine available. Quality from front to back.

Bike to Work Day
Walk/Bike Nashville hosted this years Bike to Work Day, an annual event to motivate/educate people on biking to work. It was a nice way to start the morning with fellow riders, donuts, coffee and oj. It was a pretty nice turn out this year and perfect weather, but hopefully it will continue to grow as Nashville becomes more and more cycling friendly.+ Read more…

We delivered to the kids of Inglewood Elementary today and they were pumped to each get the choice of their own book that they get to take home with them.
These rides happen frequently throughout the year, you should definitely try to make it out to the next one. Take a long lunch break, take the day off, ride your bike, deliver some books, make a kid’s day.
